Brief presentation of Agios Dimitrios
in Mani, Peloponnese, Greece.
A short introduction
Discover where Agios Dimitrios is and what it has to offer.
Agios Dimitrios is a very small fishing village and located at the south east of Agios Nikolaos, where ancient Pefnos used to be next to a rocky island...
In this very quiet village it has no tavernas or shops but Agios Nikolaos is very close and there one finds tavernas, bars and shops. At the picturesque fishing harbour a shipbuilder is operating one of the last workshops for the traditional wooden fishing boats.
A little bit further to the south at 'Katafigio' (refuge) is an unexploited mine, one of the biggest of the country according to experts.
Both, swimming and especially snorkelling, is perfect in and around Agios Dimitrios, however the next sandy beach is about 600 meters far.
